Half the adventure of visiting Eze Village in the center of the French Riviera between Villefranche/Nice and Monte Carlo is getting there. Most would take a taxi. Don’t mistakenly take the train to Eze Su Mer a lovely little beach town, thinking you are going to be in Eze Village. With so many cruise ships docking at Monte Carlo or Villefranche, the easiest and least expensive way to visit busy, magical medieval Eze Village is by bus for the small fee of 3 EUR one way from Nice or Monte Carlo. There are two very deluxe hotels perched at the promontory of the village, set with spectacular panoramic views of the entire French Riviera. Honeymooners would love the easy access to the high life of Monte Carlo and it’s lovely yacht laden harbor on one side, and the beach front city of Nice and its picturesque market on its other side. Plan on a stay for a night or two at either Chateau Chevre d’Or and Chateau Eza, lovely 5-star luxury boutique properties. At Chateau Eza, you can enjoy an artistic lunch or dinner at one of 2 tables for 2 on a porch, hanging over a steep cliff set right in the middle of the most spectacular view of Villefranche in the distance. Enjoy a stroll thru the exotic cactus garden, just a few steps up the hill. The quaint shops in the village offer a wide variety of unique souvenirs.
